The Safety and Stability of Pornhub: Working with Creators

Continuously improving the Pornhub Model experience.

By Pornhub | March 26, 2025 | 3 minutes

In addition to our rigorous Trust and Safety protocols, we also take pride in working directly with our creator community to gather valuable insight and provide the best possible experience on Pornhub. We strive to make the safety, stability, and operation of our platform transparent while supporting creators every step of the way.

Keep reading to discover how we work with our community, what resources we have available to help Models throughout their career, and organizations we work with to provide additional safety layers.

Working Directly with Creators

The Pornhub team works directly with creators to expand our offerings and the overall experience on the platform. We are continuously working on ways to reward active creators who upload often to the site and get involved in our marketing campaigns. We sponsor and attend major industry events to show our support for sex workers and we listen to what you have to say.

Last year, we began hosting feedback sessions directly with creators to gather valuable insight on Collaborators, our tagging system, before it launched. This allowed us to ensure creator needs were met to the highest standards and further enhance the Pornhub experience, offering smoother processes and more transparency.

In the summer of 2024, our data team ran a Model survey to get a pulse on the creator experience. From there, we dove even deeper, spending three months talking to diverse creators across experience, popularity, gender, and sexual tastes to better understand creator frustrations, needs, and the ways you use the platform. We did this so we can improve both the Model Program and the overall user experience on Pornhub.

From these conversations, we’ve updated the Tiers program and are in the process of developing new features that will simplify some of our current workflows.

We often hear at industry events and workshops we’ve hosted that Models are looking for more tools and resources to help them in their careers. Our team has taken this feedback and created a variety of tools and published new resources on the Pornhub Blog. Check out some of the following articles to help you get discovered, make great content, and learn about best practices for growing your Model account:

Recently we did our first case study, with Model Cami Strella. When Cami reached out to our team asking how she can grow her Model Account, we analyzed the data for her and provided her with a number of recommendations. Read Cami’s case study here to learn what techniques she used to improve her Model ranking and increase her earnings.

Additional Model Resources and Help

The Blog is the best place to stay up to date on our creator community, where we have Model Spotlights, current events, and creator updates.

Our Help Center has important information you need to know about your account and content, how to navigate the platform and its functions, our Community Guidelines, additional resources for Models, Co-Performer verification requirements, and much more.

Trust and Safety Initiatives

Our parent company, Aylo, has teamed up with several organizations to achieve and set global standards with regards to adult content. We work together to combat illegal material, develop new standards of moderation, and find ways to protect creators and viewers.

Here are some of our ongoing initiatives:

  • Internet Watch Foundation (IWF): in November 2022, Aylo partnered with the IWF and the standards were published on May 17, 2024.
    • Platforms wishing to join the IWF will be audited against these standards in 2025.
  • StopNCII.org: an Aylo partner who offers a free tool designed to support victims of non-consensual intimate image abuse.
  • We regularly publish Transparency Reports showing how much content is flagged and removed.
  • The Cupcake Girls, an Aylo partner organization that provides confidential support to those involved in the sex industry, as well as trauma-informed outreach, advocacy, holistic resources, and referral services to provide prevention and aftercare to those affected by sex trafficking. Check out their new safety-focused video series.
  • SWOP Behind Bars, another Aylo partner organization that is a national grassroots social justice network dedicated to the fundamental human rights of sex workers, victims of trafficking, and their communities with a focus on those currently incarcerated or seeking re-entry.
  • Pineapple Support, a free support and therapy service for all persons working in the online adult industry, no matter their gender, ethnic origin, social status, age, or sexual orientation that have been working alongside Aylo for a number of years.
  • Deterrence messaging with The Lucy Faithfull Foundation, a widely respected non-profit organization at the forefront of the fight against child sex abuse, whose crucial efforts include a campaign designed to deter searches seeking or associated with underage content.
    • Aylo also has in-house deterrence messaging concerning searches for content where there is a lack of consent to sexual acts, the recording or distribution of the content, or manipulation of one’s image, commonly known as “deepfakes.”
    • We also introduced new chatbots with deterrent messages for users searching for problematic content to connect them with support resources.
  • Since 2020, Pornhub launched a Trusted Flaggers Program which allows hotlines, helplines, government agencies, and other trusted organizations to disable content automatically and instantly from Pornhub, without awaiting our internal review. It is now comprised of over 55 members spanning over 35 countries, including the Internet Watch Foundation (UK), the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative (USA), End Child Prostitution and Trafficking (Sweden/Taiwan), Point de Contact (France), and many more.

It is vital we work together to make the adult industry, and the internet as a whole, a safer place. From the Models who upload content to Pornhub to the millions of daily visitors who come to the platform looking for content, we remain vigilant in our approach to be a trusted leader in the tech space. We work with many different organizations to accomplish this goal and are always seeking new partnerships to make an even bigger impact.
